If you have a piece of property that you would like to transform into a food-growing paradise, you've come to the right place! We will take your property, no matter what state it is currently in and step by step work with and for you to bring it into a sustainable, easily maintained grocery store at your back door. While each case is unique, here is what we typically do.
What are your exact goals, needs, and available resources? What percentage of your food supply do you want to grow? What kinds of foods do you want? Would you like to grow foods to sell or trade? What level of maintenance are you comfortable with? How much time, labor, and money are you willing to invest? What is your natural vegetation? What is your soil type (composition, structure, elements, pH)? What is your water source and rainfall? What are your sunlight levels, landforms, wind speeds and direction? What are your annual temperatures? What is your altitude? What onsite natural resources do you have that can be utilized (organic matter, rock, mulch, etc.). What plants were grown historically in the area and what is the natural plant progression for the area? What animals, rodents, and insects are present in the area? Putting together what you want and what you presently have, we will come up with a plan of action customized specifically for you. This may include earthworks, soil amending, water catchment, composting, mulching, planting fruit trees, vines and shrubs, installing raised beds, building a greenhouse, installing a timed drip system, planting cover crops, and/or experimenting with new and innovative techniques. Again, this will be customized to meet the situation. We can work a small amount of time over a longer period, or bring in a crew and bang it out in a day or two. As the work is going forward, we'll stay in touch and work with you to assure your satisfaction. We'll leave you with detailed instructions on whatever you will need to do to keep things going. If you'd like continued consulting, we can add that to the package or you can add it on later. We may at some point be able to offer an ongoing maintenance service for an additional charge. For a limited time, I am offering a free, 10-minutes consultation on anything that you are doing related to permaculture. Anything over that is a suggested donation of $20 per half hour. Hours are 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM SUN - THU and 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM FRI.
